Completely different demands are put on ribbons used for franking machines. National postal instructions such as colour and fluorescence must be followed. Preferably the ribbons should have a deep print on a multitude of envelopes, which often vary. Those envelopes in general are made of low-priced papers with high rawness and without special suitability to be printed on.
