Release-layer
Release-layer
The release-layer is located between the colour layer and the basic foil and is about 0,4 µm strong. Near-edge printer have to have one, because the colour is conveyed with a very short heat impulse. The way on which ribbon and label are still together to cool down is extremely short. Afterwards the ribbon is pulled away in a sharp angle to the upper side.
With releasing colour patches and a short time to dry the release-layer guarantees a very fast conveying of the colour. The layer is transparent and therefore invisible on the final printing.
