Thin-film technology
Thin-film technology
The heat elements of the Thermaltransfer-print head are produced either in thin- ort hick-film technology. This means the production process on one side (a number of thinnest function layer are put onto a ceramic carrier) and the principles of controlling the single dots on the other. The quality of the print is better due to the clear delimitation of the dots in the thin-film technology (as seen in the picture): every printing dot theoretically has the exact square form of the heating element.
Due to the thinner layer less energy is needed and the speed of printing can be faster. Resolutions up to 600 dpi are possible.
