Ribbon is too thick

Unwind several metres of the ribbon or carefully cut through the outer layers of the ribbon and remove them.
A very thick ribbon, which fits in the printer at the start may cause problems during the printing process, as there may not be enough space for two medium-sized ribbon reels
(from the unwinding and rewinding shafts). Apart from that, the increasing number of metres on the rewinding shaft may raise mechanical problems for the printer. If the ribbon is not transported properly anymore towards the end of the ribbon, exchange the used ribbon for an empty core.
