Quality leads forward

Unlike normal thermal transfer ribbons, multipass ribbons are able to print several times on the same spot – up to eight times. Thus the colour is only transmitted partly, the print quality is not as good as with normal thermal transfer ribbons, where always 100% of the colour lead to a constant deep black printout. It is however always enough to have a good readable print on a multitude of different ticketing materials, which not always have an ideal smooth surface.

This is made possible by a special chemical composition of the colour layers and a complex set-up of the ribbon-structure.

Multipass ribbons are used for printing of tickets and boarding passes at airport check-in’s.
